PremiCote P64

PremiCote P64 is a plasticizer free acrylic copolymer, single component, water-based, premium quality, clear primer for spray, brush, or roller application.

Recommended Uses:

This product is intended for use as specialty primer for PVC substrates such as roofing membranes and PVC forms for dome construction.

Product Limitations:

This coating is water-based and requires evaporation of the water in order to cure. Low temperatures and high humidity will slow this process. Do not apply this coating if there is any moisture on the substrate or there is any risk of precipitation or heavy dew before the material is completely cured. Material is not intended for ponded water applications. Applications where there is a risk of vapor drive, such as cold storage and refrigerated tank applications should only be made in conjunction with a suitable vapor barrier. This material is not intended for use as a thermal barrier.

General Properties:

This primer is has been formulated with specialty polymers to maximize adhesion to PVC membranes and to resist migration of plasticizers from the PVC membrane. PremiCote P64 dries tacky to maximize adhesion of subsequent coating and is permeable, allowing the escape of any trapped moisture vapor from the substrate.

Material Handling:

Installers should read and understand all technical and informational literature on PremiCote P64, including the Safety Data Sheets, prior to using this product. PremiCote P64 is designed for installation by a professional application company. Caution should be exercised to prevent mishap due to improper handling. Published technical data and instructions are subject to change without notice. For additional assistance please contact the Premium Spray Products Technical Services dept. of Accella Polyurethane Systems™, LLC. at (770) 528-9556.

Proper Storage of Raw Materials:

Material storage temperatures should be 70°-85°F (21°-30°C) for several days prior to use and should not exceed 90°F (32°C). Cold materials can cause poor mixing, pump cavitations or other process problems due to higher viscosities at lower temperatures. Do not store where the containers will be exposed to rain, snow or high heat. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use and under dry air. Shelf life is twelve months from date of manufacture.

Application Deadlines:

Apply to clean, dry, sound substrate. Typical application rate is 1 gallon per 200 square feet. Can be sprayed with standard airless equipment or rolled.
